LOTL at Girlbar Dinah Shore Week

LOTL spent five days in the desert with thousands of women at the Girlbar Dinah Shore Week, in Palm Springs, California.  Time was spent hanging out at pool parties and schmoozing with everyone from comedian Julie Goldman to Grammy-Award winning Macy Gray. It was tough work, but we raised our margaritas to the cause and worked our way through days of sunshine, celebrities, and bikini-clad women from around the world.

 As this was the first Dinah for this LOTL team (and the winners of our LOTL/Girlbar Dinah Shore Giveaway), we were handed a “Dinah Virgin” shirt, a handful of drink tickets, and pointed towards the pool. The Dinah pool parties are legendary, packed with women and supplied with a never-ending array of DJs and live entertainment.

 In our five days, we saw Toronto-based indie band The Cliks (cover of LOTL, February 2009), a band fronted by red-haired vixen Gretchen Bonaduce, and Sunday’s pool party featured pop starlet Cat DeLuna, who premiered one of her new songs poolside. Other talent included the Girlbar Dancers, Reyna Larson, Girlicious (styled after the purrific Pussycat Dolls), and comedians Poppy Champlin and Michelle Balan.

The White Party provided an opportunity for the Dinah devotees to cut loose, with cocktails, fine dance moves, and the occasional canoodling in dark corners.  Women from all over the globe including The United States, France, Germany, Brazil, The United Kingdom and Australia joined the party in the desert and celebrated ‘the greatest women’s week on earth’. All this in honour of a lady golfer by the name of Dinah Shore!
