Celebrate Victoria’s seniors throughout October.
The Victorian Seniors Festival will kick off its 34th year on Sunday 2 October. This year promises to be a program better than ever with a strong mix of social, cultural and educational event for older Victorians.
The contribution of Victoria’s one million seniors 60 years and older, representing almost 20 per cent of the state’s total population, will be celebrated through the initiative of the Victorian Government.
More than 1,500 free or low-cost events and activities will be held across the state throughout October, including an array of LGBTI events. This year’s program features entertainment, adventure and fun activities including sport, the arts and concerts such as the Festival Big Band Dance. Food tours, information and skills sessions are also part of a jam-packed Festival program.
There are opportunities for people to try new or old activities like bowls, tennis, technology, dance and more.
Free public transport will be available for Seniors Card holders during the Festival’s first week from 2-9 October.
