Since signing to Domino Records for the release of their upcoming third album Deep Fantasy, Vancouver’s White Lung have been on the up and up and are bringing their infectious brand of punkrock to Australian shores for the first time this June.
The trio's second LP Sorry was met with worldwide acclaim for its devotion to punk in its purest form, with lead singer Mish Way's vocals carrying the listener through the sweetest and most
hellish realms of the genre.
Along with Kenneth William on guitar and AnneMarie Vassiliou on drums, White Lung will bring their pervasive sound to Australia's east coast playing The Factory in Sydney, Alhambra Lounge in Brisbane, and The Tote in Melbourne, along with a very special Queens Birthday event at Howler Bar with some soon to be announced special guests.
Touring alongside White Lung will be the newly formed punkrock supergroup, Upset. The band is made up of Ali Koehler, formerly of Best Coast and Vivian Girls, Jennifer Prince formerly of La Sera, new edition and Slutever member, Rachel Gagliardi and Patty Schemel, former drummer for Hole, and the subject of the critically acclaimed, and staggeringly honest 2011 documentary Hit So Hard, which chronicles her life and neardeath in the early '90s music scene.
Playing tracks from their well received debut She's Gone, Upset's classic brand of lofi punk is perfect pairing for White Lung's thrashy guitar rock. Deep Fantasy will be released in June through Domino Records, with a highly anticipated new single and video set to be released in May.
