JOY 94.9 is the only gay and lesbian community radio station in Australia. Ambassador Berry was given a personal tour of the station by General Manager – Conrad Browne, President – Jed Gilbert and Vice President – Trish Kerin. JOY 94.9 studios are situated in the “City Village” community building, owned and managed by the City of Melbourne at 225 Bourke Street.

Following his tour the Ambassador was interviewed by Pete Dillon – this interview will be broadcast in its entirety this Saturday on “Saturday Magazine” from 10am, a flagship JOY 94.9 News and Current Affairs program.

The Ambassador's visit was a first by a serving U.S. Ambassador to JOY 94.9. Ambassador Berry is one of only a small number of openly gay men appointed by any nation as their ambassador.
