Andrea Kirwin is a very soulful artist with Fijian background this girl certainly knows how to tug on your heartstrings with her heartfelt lyrics.
We are in love with this lesbian roots/hip hop artist with a soulful voice – Andrea Kirwin. Hailing from country Queensland. Sounds like a fusion between Tracey Chapman and Norah Jones.
Andrea Kirwin is an Australian-Fijian Singer-songwriter/Producer based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Originally from Townsville and the eldest daughter of a Fijian preacher, Andrea grew up singing three-part harmonies with her siblings and learnt AMEB piano from an early age.
Music was her constant companion throughout her education, however, it wasn’t until the 21st birthday that Andrea was gifted a guitar by a good friend, and she began writing songs after being inspired by her first live concert by Australian Artist Clare Bowditch.
The foundation of Andrea’s songwriting is Love, unity, peace and community. Over the past ten years, Andrea has been steadily building a national following since first taking to the stage as one half of duo/band ‘The Andi and George Band’ in Canberra in 2007, and as a solo artist from 2009 to now. With a warm and disarming stage presence, an angelic voice, heart-filled lyrics and entertaining stories, Andrea continues to share her beautiful songs with all who wish to listen.
Andrea founded her own independent record label Peace Run Records in 2009 and has since released 3 full-length albums; From the Ground Up (2013), The Story of Us (2015), and A Quiet Revolution (2017). She mostly performs solo on the Sunshine Coast, QLD but also performs with her band at festivals and special events. Her music can be described as feel good, soul-infused songs from the heart. Andrea is currently taking time out from touring to complete writing her fourth album.
You can find her playing all around the Sunshine Coast sharing the love, through her music and stories.
