Luxury holidays, designer jewellery and 5-star entertainment packages are among $100,000 worth of items that will be attracting bargain hunters keen to nab themselves a great deal at the charity auction at this year’s Honour Awards.
Taking place at the Ivy in Sydney on Thursday 19 September, the Honour Awards is an annual event that recognises outstanding achievements within or contributions to NSW’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community.
The gala ceremony and cocktail party is a major fundraising event for two of NSW’s leading LGBTI charities, Aurora and ACON, and community members are being encouraged to purchase tickets to the event to help fund community initiatives supported by the two organisations.
ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill says the occasion will be a glamorous night of celebration, commemoration and silent auction bargain hunting.
“The Ivy’s stunning Sun Room will make a wonderful backdrop as guests are treated throughout the evening to quality wines and beers, delicious gourmet canapés and great music,” Mr Parkhill says.
“There’ll also be a silent auction featuring over 50 sensational lots including a luxury holiday for two in South Africa, luxury accommodation in Taj Hotels amazing palaces in India, a dinner party in your home created by celebrity chef Ed Halmagyi, designer jewellery and watches, tickets to some of Sydney’s leading cultural events, exclusive dining packages, sporting equipment, art, furniture, mobile devices and professional services.
“And for those people who can’t make it to the event but would like to bid on the items, we’re offering an online bidding option that can be accessed remotely during the event. All the details are on the Honour Awards website.”
