Brisbane Powerhouse invites you to get those cameras rolling and get your short film entries in for the Brisbane Queer Film Festival 2014
Now in its 15th year, Brisbane Queer film-reviews Festival is an annual celebration of LGBTIQ life around the world, with dozens of films from international filmmakers on show. In addition to full-length romantic comedies, dramas, documentaries, thrillers and horror films the festival also screens an annual Queer Aussie Shorts program.
According to Brisbane Queer film Festival producer Troy Armstrong this year’s Queer Aussie Shorts program will be curated by a panel of queer film advocates from a cross-section of the Brisbane community.
“We’re really excited to see which films are submitted this year. The only rules are that the films have to have been created in the last two years, are 30 minutes or less and tell stories relevant to the LGBTIQ community.“We’re also introducing audience choice awards for the Queer Aussie Shorts program this year. Selected entries could receive awards for direction, performance, cinematography, design and an overall ‘Best Short film’ prize.”
The winning entries will be screened at Brisbane Queer film Festival 2014, as part of the Queer Aussie Shorts series, from 28 March – 5 April 2014 and finalists will be notified by 20 January 2014.
