SpringOut Pride Festival takes over Canberra this weekend with a slew of fabulous events to keep you entertained.
The official Pride Festival of Canberra and the ACT, SpringOUT has been run by Canberra Pride since 1999. The event has grown over the years to include an annual fairday, bushdance, car rally and a slew of community and arts events. 1000s of people flood to Canberra each year to fly the rainbow flag at the annual Fair Day. So if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, why not take a roadtrip to our nation’s capital.
SpringOut Fairday is one of the largest and highest profile LGBTI community events in Canberra. It is an inclusive event that celebrates the diversity, colour and vibrancy of Canberra. SpringOut Fairday 2012 will run from 12 noon to 5 pm on Saturday November 3 2012, on the lawns of Westlund House. The host for this year’s Fairday will be none other than drag queen extraordinaire Miss Vanessa Wagner!
There will be tons of stalls from businesses and community groups. It will be a great day to find out what is going on in the Canberra queer community, as well as picking up some great gifts. Lots of great food including delicious cakes and sweet things, gourmet ice-cream, of course a sausage sizzle, cold drinks and hot coffee!
