The Chapel gets overrun by LGBTQ theatrics this January as Midsumma presents Playing in the Raw
Performer LindaAnn Loschiavo takes to the stage at The Chapel to deliver her take on the lives and loves of one of the film world’s most notorious dames, Mae West.
West was the queen of innuendo, the original Madonna, with mouthfuls of witty sass! Mae West was the first true sex symbol who, with her razor-sharp tongue + challenging stage shows, arrived with the force of a hurricane.
Frustrated with the male-dominated world of Broadway, West takes the radical step of writing and casting her own plays in a quest to make Broadway more Broadminded. Smashing taboos, shocking the middle class, enduring raids, jail time and obscenity trials, she brought gays and drag queens into the spotlight forever and sent the censors into a spin.
