A great night with the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) for its annual fundraising auction.
BGF today officially announced the result of its annual BGF Auction, which raised $63,000 at Otto Ristorante last Wednesday.
According to Martin Walsh, BGF President, this is an outstanding result which equalled last year and ensures people living with HIV continue to receive practical, emotional and financial support. “Thanks to the generosity of all our event partners, including principal partner, Otto Ristorante, money raised through the BGF Auctions goes towards BGF’s client services programs,” he said.
Guests also heard from BGF’s new CEO David Riddell in his first official event in the role. “All of us here are not just standing on the shoulders of giants. It’s our turn to be the giants, to help others see further and to keep the work, the spirit and the response alive,” he said
David also made guests aware of just how important they are to BGF. “Your support is so critical to the work we did yesterday, to the work we do today and the work we have to do tomorrow,” he said.
Guests had the chance to bid on a range of luxury and ‘money-can’t-buy experiences and items including a rare opportunity to have dinner with both The Hon Tanya Plibersek, MP, Federal Minister for Health and Federal Member for Sydney and Malcolm Turnbull Federal Member for Wentworth and Shadow Minister for Communications and Broadband. This prize lived up to its headline billing, taking top dollar with a five-figure winning bid.
Host, Brynne Edelsten, proved a popular and entertaining guest MC.
