We trawl the internet for random facts about your fave celebs so you don’t have to.
1. She doesn’t like the colour orange.
But she says she does prefer it to the beige prison scrubs the ladies in Litchfield have to wear.
2. She hates social media.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she talked of her “conflicted relationship” with things like Twitter and says she much prefers talking face-to-face. “I prefer more one-on-one interactions about what people think of me, or how things are being impacted. I don’t quite know how to interact with people [online]. It just makes me a little uncomfortable; I feel a little exposed, to be honest with you.”
3. She says working with Jodie Foster was “a dream”.
She told Vulture: “It felt overwhelming in lots of ways when she was there. She’s as extraordinary to work with as an actor as you’d imagine, or that I’d imagine. [I was] really, really blown away by the experience.”
4. Tay says her new film is “bonkers”.
The Overnight features orgies, anus painting and prosthetic cocks and yes, Taylor kisses a girl. We can hardly wait.
5. To prepare for her role in Mercy, she spent some time observing nurses in a real New York ER.
The show only ran for one season, but she was amazing as Veronica Flanagan Callahan. Bonus fact: the show also featured some of her Orange co-stars including Kate Mulgrew, Michael Chernus (who plays her brother in both shows) and Nick Sandow.
6. Orange has made her view criminals differently.
Says Taylor: “It’s brought to light a lot of injustices that I was unaware of. The US does a really good job of keeping the prison system under wraps, it isn’t something that is talked about much and I think like most people, I had no clue what was going on in a correctional facilities unit. It’s devastating and enraging.”
7. She’s a big fan of Downton Abbey and consumed three seasons in just a week.
And we thought we could binge watch. Props to you, Taylor.
8. She’s incredibly private.
Taylor keeps her public life and private life very separate and despite being the subject of gossip and rumour, refuses to comment on any of it. In the age of the overshare, we think more famous folk would do well to follow Taylor’s example.
9. She finds getting naked on set harder than simulating sex.
Taylor told Allure that being naked in the shower was “one of the scariest scenes I’ve ever shot.”
10. She thinks talent is more important than looks.
“I don’t feel bound by my face or my body. I don’t feel like that’s the biggest gift I have to offer the world. There are more parts of me to offer than that,” says Taylor. Amen to that.
