South Sydney LGBT support group Come Out is searching for new members.
Sydney’s south has a long and proud gay history, with a number of community groups, services and events (Mardi Gras and even regular mainstream) over many years, however with the recent closure of the youth group (GLYSSN) and the decline of the Cronulla Gay Group, Come Out is pretty much the only gay and lesbian organisation in Sydney’s South these days, so its aim is to once again raise the rainbow flag proudly in the south.
Alex Day from Come Out comments:
“We are planning a number of other activities and projects and are eager to hear what people want.
“We have just appointed a new coordinator in Zed Bolton, and Come Out is keen to deliver to the people of the region, the kind of group they want it to be, so, let us know what you want the group to be and how you can assist in making it happen.
We’ll be having a discussion at the Mortdale Hotel on the 16th October, however we plan to follow that up with a series of meetings in a community centres and/or similar a little later one.
We will be meeting for lunch at the Mortdale Hotel, Cnr Pitt & George Streets, Mortdale on Sunday 16th October, so we invite everyone to Come Out and meet us in the Bistro from 12.30pm onwards.
