At Contact Bar & Kitchen we tip our hats to Alexander Graham-Bell for his invention of the first practical telephone in 1876. . We celebrate the way in which this humble device has changed the world and connected people and ideas in a way never before possible, but we also allude to the irony that in this modern-day and age the telephone seems to be making us less social creatures.

The idea behind Contact is to create a space for people to connect and share ideas and experiences: laugh, love, and even learn a thing or two. At Contact you can find out all about the ingredients of the dish you’re eating and the drink you’re sipping: with the help of the natural products we use, we aim to connect you to nature because we have your well-being at heart.

All our dishes are designed for sharing and everything out of our Bar & Kitchen aims to excite and inspire the palate. The experience is not restricted to the traditional sit-down-for-a-meal-and-drink scenario, either: for those looking to get more involved, we regularly host culinary and cocktail classes as well as tastings and masterclasses covering everything from cheese to whisky.

We hope to build a community of like-minded people with a genuine interest in what they eat and drink and the finer things in life in general.

Contact is tucked away on Crown St in Woolloomooloo. Just around the corner from trendy Stanley St, we’re close enough to the CBD to be a nice and central location and just far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

For the early risers, we offer an intriguing breakfast menu, complemented by everything from freshly pressed juices and smoothies to quality Italian coffee or even a savoury Bloody Mary, if that’s what’s required to start the day. Classes and tastings generally occupy the early afternoon, before we head into our evening service. So, whether it’s a coffee on the go in the morning, a quick bite for lunch, a cheeky after-work beverage, or dinner and drinks with friends – you can count on Contact for something with a bit more gusto.
