THE PYRAMID  first played to Sydney Audiences in 2008, having been selected for the 30th Anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. From there it was picked up by Melbourne theatre companyThree to a Room (I love you bro) and did a two week season in Melbourne in 2010 to excellent reviews. This is its Tasmanian debut.

 

 

 

Set in any ordinary Australian house, on any ordinary street, the Pyramid is a tale of secrets, desire, love lost & love found.

 

Jack & Kate live in suburbia with their Scottish terrier, Pete. A seemingly happy marriage to anyone on the outside, they have grown further and further apart as Kate finally relents in her struggle over an innate part of herself.

 

The play reveals the undercurrent of violence present in the lives of many of us every day. And at the heart of it is the apparent ordinariness of Kate and her husband. The dullness of their lives. The blandness of suburbia.

 

But the play reveals that Kate’s life is anything but ordinary. And Jack is anything but the man he seems. We are shown the masks worn by many to cover something different, or something darker underneath.
