Duets’ adds a touch of sentiment with its premiere this month.
Female performance troupe The Stain is returning with the second addition to their trilogy of works dedicated to the intensity of the human connection.
Always performing in curious venues and delivering extravaganzas and over-the-top forays, The Stain continues to delve deeper into art and the meaning of life. The current trilogy is a series set in an underground world marred by the spoils of life and directed by Maude Davey. The first instalment, The Divide premiered in April 2016 at Yarra Sculpture Gallery.
Duets will premiere at La Mama this month. While The Divide was dark yet comical, the second of the series adds a touch of sentiment while exploring the union, division, unique, and unspeakable bonds of the human connection.
The show features a mix of iconic duets and unsuspecting musical unions as well as dance, performance art, and live music with a heartfelt soundscape.
Special guests will include harpist Genevieve Fry, performance artists Sarah Ward and The Huxley’s, dancer Paula Russel.
The third instalment is scheduled for 2017.
