Greek social group Club Adonis has raised $2000 for youth LGBTI support group Twenty10
After partying. the night away at the Imperial Hotel in May, the LGBTI folk from Greek social group, Club Adonis, have raised $2000 for LGBT support group Twenty10.
Club Adonis events celebrate Greek culture and acceptance of the LGBT community. “It’s an opportunity for Greeks and those who love them (or want to), to get together socialize, enjoy a drink, dance, enjoy some Greek music & beats”.
In the Greek culture, there is an increased risk for LGBT people to not find acceptance at home, they are often left to fend for themselves, increasing their chances of homelessness, mental health issues and suicide. “It is easy to see why we feel raising funds for Twenty10 is so important”.
Twenty10 works with and offers support to young people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities, their families and friends. Aiming to be a beacon of strength and acceptance – supporting young people to build resilience and achieve their potential. It is a free and confidential service. It is a safe place and staff deal with all enquiries in an understanding, supportive and confidential manner.
Club Adonis is planning to hold its next club night at the end of November & at Mardi Gras as well. “Let’s see if we can raise more money for Twenty10 than ever before while partying it up Greek Style?”
