Tickets for Sleaze 2010 are now on sale, with the theme of “Decadence” encouraging partygoers to indulge in their wildest costuming fantasies. A renewed pricing structure will also provide better access to the event for community members who may have been less likely to attend because of high ticket prices.

New Mardi Gras (NMG) members have welcomed back the ability to purchase two tickets to Sleaze, this year for $59 each in first release. The same price is available for under-25s and concessions, after research showed they were the group least likely to be able to afford a ticket. General admission has been considerably lowered as well, with first release prices at $75.

“We’re excited to not only extend benefits to our members, but to stimulate more interest from our younger generations,” said Steph Sands, Co-Chair of NMG. “As an organization we are determined to ensure a broad spectrum of the community can engage with our events. Research showed that not only did youth lack the means to attend in some cases, but that older generations lamented their absence.”

“The new shape of Sleaze allows us to lower ticket prices, not only to these groups but across the board. We’re looking forward to bringing our Mardi Gras production standards to the Entertainment Quarter, with superb DJs and shows, and the fabulous return of Project Sleazeway.”

Taking place this year in the Entertainment Quarter, Sleaze 2010: “Decadence” will be a celebration of debauchery and excess set across several stunning venues. The theme has been designed to encourage partygoers to go all out in costuming; one of the unique and thrilling elements of Sleaze Ball. Attendees are invited to explore what “Decadence” means to them, whether it’s indulging in opulent attire or wearing nothing but a diamond ring. Expect to see modern-day billionaires, 1920’s German cabaret stars, revelers dressed to the nines in fetish wear and, of course, plenty of Queens.

Also announced was the 2010 Sleaze Ball Official After Party, Matinee: La Leche. This exciting production, direct from Ibiza and the world’s best clubs, is to be held in The Metro at 10pm Sunday 3rd October. A limited number of “Weekend Pass” ticket bundles for both parties cost $109, and are available through Moshtix now. For tickets, head to www.mardigras.org.au/sleaze
