Celebrating the diversity of the Sunshine Coast LGBTIQ community
With less than three months to go, planning for the 7th Annual Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is in the final stages to bring all of the elements together to make this one of the biggest Festivals held on the Sunshine Coast.
The 2015 Festival will be held from Friday 27th February and conclude Sunday 1st March 2015. The theme for the 2015 Festival is “Love is Love”.
Paul Ferguson, Chair of the 2015 Festival Organising Committee, explained, “Our next Festival’s theme is quite simply ‘Love is Love’, which is all about celebrating the beauty of love in all of its many forms. Love does not discriminate; it is boundless and it is something worth celebrating.”
The Organising Committee is hoping to build on the great success of this year’s 2014 Festival which had a significant expansion with four main events over three days. There were over 2000 people coming along to the main event, the Pride Fair Day, which was hosted for the first time at the Eumundi Markets.
The events schedule for the 2015 Festival is similar to previous years, with the opening event being a Pride Show Night with Sunny Drake and his one-man show Transgender Seeking, followed by Pride Fair Day and the After Party on the Saturday night, and then finishing up with Pride ChillOut on the Sunday. There will be many great key entertainers, with an eclectic line-up of artists, ranging from folk to dance musicians, intense energy DJs and drag queens.
Details of the events are available on the official Festival pages:
