If you are keen on further insight into our collective LGBT history, then don’t miss out on Nights at the Museum, a series of special talks at the new Sydney Mardi Gras Museum.
Come and take a hosted journey through the magical history of Mardi Gras, Sydney’s iconic parade and festival. Join special guest speakers and hear their memories and experiences over four fabulous decades of love.
Held in the Sydney Mardi Gras Museum Debut Exhibition space, enjoy a private viewing and personal recollections of Mardi Gras by an excellent cross-section and selection of speakers.
There are four nights to choose from, each session focusing on a different decade.
The four fabulous special guest speakers are:
- Julie McCrossin, 78er, journalist and Gay and Lesbian rights activist – The 70′s
- William Yang, Photographer and chronicler of Mardi Gras – The 80′s
- Ron Muncaster, Mardi Gras Hall of Fame inductee, winner of 16 Mardi Gras awards, including the inaugural award and a further 9 ‘best costume’ awards – The 90′s (Tuesday 19 February); and
- C.Moore Hardy, Photographer and chronicler of Mardi Gras – The 00′s (Monday 18 February)
Each night is also facilitated by Exhibition Curator Nick Henderson, a committee member of the Australian Lesbian & Gay Archives.

The Sydney Mardi Gras Museum Debut Exhibition is part of the Museum Project to establish a permanent Sydney home for an LGBTQI Museum.
