Its Time to be recognised and appreciated. We have built this page to gather all LGBTIQ people and their families together. We want to make everyone who lives on the Sunshine Coast in QLD feel they are not alone – we are all part of one big family!!
The social networking group Sunshine Coast Rainbow Network was started in September 2012 by a small group of like-minded LGBT Sunny Coasters who found that there was nothing on the coast to get people together. The network runs social events and are involved in a lot of equal rights community activities and forums. The social events include fortnightly BBQs and afternoon teas to bring the SC LGBTIQ community together and the organisation itself works closely with LGBTIQ communities and networks in Brisbane and the Fraser Coast. It also has affiliations with The Queensland and Sunshine Coast Greens and are presently working together on an Equality Rally to happen on the Sunshine Coast in January 2014. The Rainbow Network is a huge supporter both of the Sunshine Coast Pride Festival as well as our newly reformed LGBTIQ monthly niteclub – CRUSH – which occurs monthly at the Sands Tavern Maroochydore.
Presently The Network is assisting The Sunshine Coast Pride committee with preparations for our next Pride Festival which will happen in February 2014 over the course of three days 21st-23rd.
