Sydney Frontrunners welcome runners of all skill levels.
Made any New Year resolutions to be fitter and healthier in 2016? Having trouble getting started? Or perhaps you want to run the City to Surf this August and set a personal best?
Sydney Frontrunners, the gay and lesbian running group, will kick off a new members’ programme on Saturday 16 January. This caters especially for new runners and walkers or those wanting to get faster. They’re especially keen to get more women involved – no matter their level of fitness.
For new runners there’s a leisurely 5K at 8.30am.The club has a walking group that circles the park starting at 8.00am.
For more experienced runners there’s a 12K run at 7.30am or an 8K at 8.00am. Every run will be led by an experienced runner to make sure you finish.
All runs/walks commence from the centre of Centennial Park at the kiosk next to the duck ponds on Parkes Drive. They finish in the same spot where you can enjoy a coffee and food before socialising.
Bring a friend, family or partner; dogs on a lead are also welcome as Frontrunners cater for all abilities. With a membership of around 90 you are sure to find another runner to join you on your next run.
Club President Rob and his committee have planned loads of activities in the first part of the year. Hikes in the Blue Mountains, Movie nights, Mardi Gras runs and of course their famous Little Black Dress run (28 February) along with regular runs on Saturday mornings, Monday evening training squad and the 5K run on Wednesday evening.
Come along and join us – there are no fees for our runs. We run every week all year round. 2016 will be a year of achievement for all of us!
