Help change the game by learning to combat homophobia and transphobia in sport.
People are united internationally through sports and sporting events. However, homophobia and transphobia are still present within many sporting communities, especially in amateur sport in education and leisure.
Team Sydney aims to promote and encourage participation in sport and sporting events while fostering a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on preventing bullying and alienation.
The team is inviting school principals, teachers, counsellors, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, sporting clubs, parents, administrators, the Independent Education Union (IEU), tertiary educators, sports participants, and fitness centres to attend the Change The Game Conference.
The Change The Game Conference will focus on current research and practice in areas relating to the promotion and safe participation of all participants in sport, exercise and physical activity.
The interactive, educational forum will promote a healthy lifestyle with inclusivity in sport while provoking dialogue that hopes to initiate cultural change.
Expert speakers at the conference will include Victoria University's Deputy Dean of the College of Sport and Exercise Science and homophobia in sport researcher Caroline Symons.
