For the fourth year running, Herbert Smith Freehills is proudly supporting the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
The Herbert Smith Freehills IRIS Network is proud to support the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. This is the fourth consecutive year that the firm’s LGBTI Network has partnered with the festival to celebrate the best of queer cinema from around the world.
The IRIS Network marked its sponsorship of the festival with an event on Tuesday evening for clients and staff, before watching A Date for Mad Mary, a film screening also sponsored by the network.
“We are proud of our relationship with the Melbourne Queer Film Festival and are delighted to be able to share our commitment to diversity and inclusion with our clients. Clients understand the value of working with diverse teams, who bring fresh ideas and a diversity of thought that enhances their business outcomes,” said partner and LGBTI champion Tony Wood.
The firm launched its global IRIS Network in December 2016, building on the strength of existing local networks to create an alliance that stretches across all offices around the globe. This expansion of the LGBTI network further reinforced the firm’s commitment to inclusion, allowing for greater sharing of ideas, resources and support.
“The IRIS Network continues to grow and develop and as it does so we are pleased to maintain our support for the wider LGBTI community. In Australia, the strong relationship between Herbert Smith Freehills and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival is not only an important symbol of our commitment to diversity, but also an active demonstration of how we are embedding inclusivity into our culture,” Wood added.
The Melbourne Queer Film Festival continues until March 27.
