Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day where we honour the memory of transgender people who have been killed as a result of transphobia or the hatred or fear of trans*.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual event held around Australia.
On the 23rd of November 2013, come down to 30 Helen Street Newstead, QLD between 11am and 1pm to join us.
This is a day where we honour the memory of transgender people who have been killed as a result of transphobia or the hatred or fear of trans*. This year we will be doing a balloon release. We also use biodegradable balloons and string.
You are invited to write a special message on a balloon and release it to commemorate those who are no longer with us. We will meet at Healthy Communities at 11am, where we will have some short speeches. Following this, you will have the opportunity to select a balloon, write a message and we will release them by the river.
This event is all inclusive. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
Thank you.
