The second National Roundtable on LGBTI Ageing and Aged care is to be held in Sydney.
Convened by the National LGBTI Health Alliance, a round table event will be held in Sydney giving policymakers, service providers, older adults, LGBTI people, and key organisations an opportunity to review the implementation of the National LGBTI Ageing & Aged Care Strategy and to feed this information back to the government.
The round table participants will consist of LGBT representatives of each State and Territory. The outcomes of the event are aimed to ensure national efforts to provide safe and inclusive aged care services around the country.
Executive Director of the Alliance, Rebecca Reynolds says, “In addition participants will identify healthy ageing opportunities, needs and wants of older LGBTI people, including housing, health, mental health and other non-aged care sector services and discuss the progress of cultural change within the ageing and aged care sectors and initiatives to achieve support of LGBTI people within aged care.”
