Vienna Tourism is giving away a honeymoon to the first Aussie same-sex couple that ties the knot!

The results of Australia’s postal same-sex marriage survey, in which the majority of voters say they cast a ballot in favor of marriage equality, are making themselves felt on the other side of the planet: “Vienna is one of the world’s most popular Honeymoon destinations – and since 2010 same-sex couples have been able to register civil partnerships in the city. But we are also waiting for the green light when it comes to same-sex marriages.

“If Australia manages what we have not been able to here in Austria, then we want to send out a signal,”

Explained Vienna Tourist Board Managing Director Norbert Kettner: “We would like to invite the first same-sex couple, which ties the knot in Australia and sends their marriage certificate to [email protected] to Vienna. They will spend an unforgettable honeymoon in the European hotspot for the gay and lesbian community.”

Vienna is shortlisted in the Destination category of the Australian LGBTI Awards 2018. In 2019 the capital will host Europride, which is expected to attract more than a million participants!
