“Shopping” is a very short (6 min.) film about two women who first see each other as young children in the grocery store. One reaches out to the other, and we notice her beautiful bracelet.
As young adults, they literally run in to each other again in the grocery store. One recognizes the bracelet and reaches out to her. The woman with the bracelet wants to act on their connection, but her fear gets the best of her.
The women meet again as young mothers in the grocery store. Again, there’s the connection when the one woman sees the bracelet. Again, they turn away from each other. Finally, as old women they run into each other again in the grocery store. This time the woman doesn’t need to see the bracelet to feel the connection. They join hands and begin to dance.
This short film really captured me. While I felt so sad that they never connected all those previous times, at least they finally connected. Oh, and they never speak a word to each other throughout the entire film, but you feel their connection. It doesn’t need words.
