Tech maven Kara Swisher is a 2015 Honoree at StartOut Awards Gala.
This year’s StartOut Awards will celebrate the best and brightest business stars in the LGBT firmament.
StartOut, the leading organization that supports and recognizes LGBT entrepreneurs nationwide has announced its 2015 StartOut Award Honorees, which were selected carefully by the Board of StartOut based on their business success and contributions to the LGBT community.
Kara Swisher will be receiving the Leadership Award, recognizing her as an entrepreneur whose long term and outstanding coverage has had a profound effect on the U.S. technology culture.
Swisher is the executive editor of Re/code, host of the Re/code Decode podcast and co-executive producer of the Code Cference.
She has been out for the duration of her career and has been a tech trailblazer, especially to lesbians.
The StartOut Awards will be held on November 5 at the Hotel Kabuki San Francisco. A VIP Cocktail Reception will be followed by a Gala and Afterparty.
StartOut is the national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and developing entrepreneurship in the LGBT community.
StartOut empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to start new companies, helps current entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses, and engages successful LGBT entrepreneurs as role models and mentors for the next generation of business leaders.
