Side by side in wheelchairs, perhaps it wasn’t “just a phase”.

Perhaps the cutest thing you will see this year is the love, the TRUE love shown here by these two ladies on their wedding day.

72 years ago, two women met in their hometown of Yale, Iowa, they fell in love and haven't looked back.

In 1947 the pair moved to Davenport, Miss Boyack began work as a teacher and Miss Dubes in Payroll work.

How does one unlock the secret to such a successful and lengthy relationship? The pair stated simply that after 72 years the key factors you need are a lot of love and work to keep things going.

The pair have travelled extensively together, visiting all 50 states, have been to all of the provinces of Canada, and even ventured to England twice.

"We've had a good time" stated Miss Dubes – But I'm sure these two ladies still have more good times to live together.

You definitely have to be of a certain calibre to survive and stay strong through the decades these ladies have lived!

Long time friend Jerry Yeast, 73, said just that: "I've known these two women all my life, and I can tell you, they are special."

In front of close family and friends, these two women sat side by side in wheelchairs, hand in hand, and respectively married the woman of their dreams! It doesn't get more sweet than this after 72 years!

Rev. Linda Hunsaker stated: "This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago."

Iowa legalised same-sex marriage back in 2009 so clearly this couple wasn't in a rush, their love is solid, their spirits strong, but this is one more thing they can cross off their bucket list!

Congratulations Vivian and Alice, we wish you many more happy years together as a married couple.
