Queen Beaver
Queen Beaver: A queer band of ladies, singing songs and telling jokes in a nightclub.
Described by local press as a ‘trio with the wow factor’, this all-female three-piece formed back in 1996. When kiwis Lucy and Stayci moved back to Melbourne in 2012, Queen Beaver chose Nevada’s Burning Man festival as the perfect place to get the band back together!
Bringing Michelle’s guitar licks, Lucy’s banging voice and Stayci’s silly banter, Queen Beaver love to entertain with their semi-acoustic mix of covers and originals. As well as gigging around Melbourne and Victoria, shows include Beaver Las Vegas (Melbourne Fringe Festival), the Lesbian Comedy Gala, the ChillOut Festival and Singalong with Queen Beaver (Everyone’s A Diva) – a karaoke-meets-pub-quiz show for the Darebin Music Feast.
Artists covered by the band range from Johnny Cash to Meatloaf, Tammy Wynette to Lorde, and Helen Reddy to Supertramp – all with Queen Beaver’s own twist, and running alongside their own country and blues inspired originals and comic antics..
The Ukulele Ladies
The Ukulele Ladies are a toe-tapping, thigh-slapping, stocking-snagging, head-banging musical comedy duo from Melbourne via Hawaii. No tune is safe from their side splitting fun.
The lovely Dusty Footpaths and Rhododendron Sur la Tibetan Montagne are decked out in gorgeous flaming red outfits and play the gamut of musical genres, from Classical to Disco accompanied by their ukuleles.
Colourful and enticing from a distance, up close The Ukulele Ladies can transform rock music to a pebble.
The Ukulele Ladies are a bit Vegas, a touch Hawaii, and a tad Tamworth.
They enchant and delight audiences of all ages with humour and musical pizzazz.
United by their dedication and devotion to humming and strumming, plucking and lilting, these two performers are more than happy to stop for a chat and a quick tune on their way to stardom.
Anna Tirotta
Anna has been performing professionally in bands, duos and solo platforms all her adult life. Her musical pedigree covers everything from rock, pop, soul, acoustic folk through to her focused passion of country rock.
You could describe Anna as Tina Turner meets Katie Perry at the rodeo with leg warmers on! The sound of country rock with a massive heart—think Shania Twain with the magnitude of Bonnie Tyler. Anna performs both originals and covers spanning across all decades from 60’s – top 40 hits.
