rock punk sex appeal. LOTL gets an exclusive insight into the inner workings of this sexy foursome.
So what turns you on musically?
Tanya: P!NK, Gwen Stefani…ah wait you said “what” not “who”…I love layers and harmonies!
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Stacey: I work in retail and let’s just say if I hear Britney Spears one more time..…there will be blood. But if I had a choice, I’d probably be listening to some old Millencolin or John Butler Trio.
One thing that is cool about you:
Stacey: I have 8 piercings, is that even cool these days?
One thing that is totally geeky about you:
Michael: I’ve seen every episode of The Simpsons
Goldwyn: My speech is too articulate for me, I dumb it down to mask my geekiness.
Who writes your songs?
Tanya: We all write together, we work best that way. Means we all own a part of every song – which really helps us to perform each song like it’s our own!
What is the story behind Second On Your Mind?
Stacey: This one was written during different stages of the end of a relationship. The first stage was a when I felt really alone and frustrated by the feeling that I was misunderstood, then there was the realisation that it just wasn’t meant to be, and then when it was actually over and I felt a kind of release and lastly I was able to look back fondly and finally say goodbye.
What has been your most memorable moment being in the band so far?
Michael: Playing Second On Your Mind in the back of a pink stretch Hummer
What is one thing you would like for us to know about you?
Stacey: I’m a feminist and a vego.
What is one thing you would definitely not like for us to know about you?
Stacey: The amount of fines I received in 2013.
Goldwyn: Maybe if I say it, it would defeat the purpose but if I have to answer I guess I’d say I’m secretly a total geek…but don’t tell the ladies.
How did you end up in the band?
Stacey: Tanya followed me around until I agreed to join! Haha
Tanya: Hahaha I gave birth to it! I would have been pretty upset if I didn’t end up in it!
What is your greatest dream for Stellar Addiction?
Stacey: I would absolutely love to be playing the festival circuit. I don’t want to be rich man, that’s never been my game but just to be touring around and doing what I love that’d be ace!
When you’re feeling high or low, do you bring it into your music?
Tanya: Absolutely. I think all the songs I write are a reflection of something that is happening in my life at that time! Music is how I let it out.
Stacey: Absolutely. Usually it’s more of the low that gets me writing. But recently I wrote my first ever happy song, love will do that.
Describe yourself using 3 adjectives.
Michael: Quiet, Shy and reserved.
Goldwyn: Tall, Dark, and Handsome. Lol
Tanya: Ambitious, intense, crazy.
Stacey: Passionate, fierce, kind.
What did you want to be growing up?
Tanya: When I was really little I wanted to be a dog because that meant me and my dog could be best friends.
What do you like to do when you’re not performing?
Tanya: I love a good pub sesh with mates! Love the beach. Try and get to as many gigs as I can … love getting my social on!
Stacey: I’m a make-up artist, I love anything to do with makeup and special fx. I also love my two doggies Charlotte and Pedro, they are my babies.
Tell us about your favourite moment with a fan.
Tanya: Last year I went to one of my dad’s gigs (he’s also a drummer). He got a cramp in his leg and asked me up on stage to take over for a few songs. When I got off stage all these older woman came up to me and planted kisses all over my face telling me I was amazing. I think my dad felt a bit gypped lol… that was a pretty funny moment especially since it wasn’t my gig.
Stacey: The funniest moment would have to be when these dudes were proposing to me whilst we were on stage out in Penrith.
