The Canadian is leaving our shores, but not before playing some shows.
Canadian indie/folk artist Faye Blais has announced her final tour to wrap up her latest six-month visit to Australia, which she calls her second home. She will be packing pre-release copies of her new album On the Bright Side, which is set to be released in Canada in May. She wants her Aussie fans to get their hands on the album first as a special thanks to her supporters on this side of the globe.
Blais has been playing continuously since her arrival to Oz last October, touring and sharing bills with Australia’s own Rosie Burgess Trio, Jungal, Genevieve Chadwick, Owl Eyes, Gossling, Nicole Brophy and Alexis Nicole, among others. She has also jumped on the roster for festivals along the coast, including Gulgong Folk Festival (NSW), the upcoming Nannup Folk Festival (WA), and Yackandandah Folk Festival (VIC).
Blais has spent half of the past five years between Canada and Australia, chasing the sun on a series of international tours. She has three previous full-length studio releases and will be performing as a three-piece band on this tour, strumming Australia’s own Cole Clark Guitars, who endorsed Blais following her Australian tour last Fall.
