The New York-born, lesbian singer, songwriter and recording artist LP is causing serious waves in the US and internationally with her raspy, soulfully charged vocals, and her androgynous, seductive looks.
Think Gossip Girl glamour meets androgynous chic meets literal lesbian fantasy. If you haven’t gotten on the LP Bandwagon yet, it’s high time you did.
The “When We’re High” video clip combines gorgeous women languidly draping themselves over pieces of velvet furniture, LP slouching in like a beautiful masc butterfly, and a tune that you won’t be able to get out of your head. We can’t do it justice in words: here, see it for yourself.
LP has written hits for Rihanna, Cher, Backstreet Boys, Cher Lloyd, and more and released her major-label debut, Forever For Now, in 2014. A single from that album, “Into The Wild” fueled a Citibank ad campaign and everyone from The Wall Street Journal, who praised LP as having “her own kind of charisma that can deliver a wide audience,” to Elle, who dubbed her “rock’s next big thing” extolled the artist.
In May of 2017, LP released her highly acclaimed studio album Lost On You through BMG. It’s banger after banger, unsurprisingly.
