Aussie hottie making a name for herself!
From NSW, debuting in 2010 with ‘Riding the Wind Forgetting Time’ for which she received standing ovations for her performances at the Woodford Folk Festival and Sydney Opera House (amongst other well-known music festivals and venues), Genevieve Chadwick is already a well-known fixture on the Australian live performance scene and with a huge following. Her most recent work entitled, ‘Playing for Change presents Genevieve Chadwick’ shows an artist and musician who has clearly made her mark and is in the makings of hitting it big. Genevieve was selected as one of three Australian artists to become part of the global Playing For Change music project, which saw her feature alongside Maroon 5 amongst other global acts.
The track ‘In the Middle’ took me back to the Bluesfest Byron Bay with its cheerful instrumentals and catchy chorus, there will definitely be no foot tapping to this tune.
In addition to her raw musical talent, it is her docile, soulful, folk like voice that will capture your admiration and attention. Her soulfulness has been likened to that of icon Janis Joplin. For me, there are also hints of Tracy Chapman through her captivating storytelling, and KT Tunstall through her musician’s craftsmanship, performance and rock vocals. She is a global artist who can duet with any vocal and make it epic.
Passionate, effortless and endearing to watch; Genevieve Chadwick is the artist who will bring blues back to the fore with a bang. I’m excited to see what’s next.
