Switchboard’s getting out and about! Department of Social Services supports State wide Volunteer Visiting Program for LGBTI Victorians over 65 until 2017

It’s been 23 years and Switchboards’ LGBTI peer volunteers continue to listen to the needs and concerns of our diverse community via telephone and web chat.  

Switchboard is pleased to announce that with the support of our community partners and a commitment of $250,000 over the next 3 years from the Department of Social Services, an exciting state wide community engagement initiative is about to begin.

This program will see over 60 community volunteers matched, trained and supported to provide a visitor service for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) Victorians over the age of 65.

The key aim of the program is to facilitate community connectedness in older LGBTI Victorians across the State.
