From funnies to queer sex education, this new podcast delivers to your LGBT delight.
A new LGBTI culture and society podcast – Queeriosity – has just been released. Queeriosity is geared to LGBTI people and allies 18 years old and over and focuses on topics within the community, including sex education, advice, humour and testimonials.
Renee Russo, the host and creator of Queeriosity, says she was driven to make the podcast upon coming out at the age of 21. She realised she had “no real sex education and that people rarely talk openly about their sexuality.”
Russo says she aims to be the influence for others that she needed when she was coming out.
“It’s a difficult time, and young people are left to learn too much from hearsay and watching porno. I’m so excited we have this platform to talk about topics that aren’t being spoken of enough, things like fisting and squirting!”
This podcast is for everyone. It’s about and for the queer community but also for allies and parents too.
“We want to start conversations, to learn stuff. But we also want to learn from you! We don’t proclaim to be experts by any means, but we want to discuss topics no one else is discussing.”
In the first episode of the podcast, Renee is joined by three good mates, Tam, Jess and Cyrus to discuss, “When did you first realise you were straight?”
Another episode, “Online me ‘vs’ Real me” features information on online dating, online personas, story sharing and discrimination within the community. The most recent episode, “Behind closed doors: PNP unveiled,” explores the gay high scene.
Queeriosity is available for free on iTunes, Sound Cloud and Stitcher Radio.
